- Private teacher 11+ years in Oakland
- Managed bands that have performed across America and Europe
Eyal has been a private drum teacher for over 11 years, based in Oakland. He is a lover of music and shares that passion with his students of all ages, from beginner to advanced levels.
His goal is to make lessons fun and motivational, encouraging them to perform the best they can, while enjoying the learning process. Eyal is patient. He is a big believer in improvisation to improve creativity and confidence. He expects students to practice the techniques they learn and come prepared for each lesson.
For a few years he managed a Youth Music Club, forming and leading many young bands, some of which went on to tour across America and Europe. During that time, Eyal developed his method of empowering people to reach for their dreams, and he practices this his students every day.
Eyal recognizes and embraces the fact that each student has a unique learning path, and he works with them to develop individual lesson plans determined by their level of musical interests.
Music styles he teaches include: Rock, Pop, Funk, Metal, Punk, Reggae, Drum and Bass, Electronic, Jazz, Latin, Hip-Hop & RnB, Country, Blues
"I've been taking drum lessons now with Eyal for maybe 4 months. I'm 45, have a full-time job, but always wanted to learn the drums as a hobby. Eyal is an absolute pleasure to work with. Skill level, he's definitely at the top of his game. So solid!
Saying he has advanced skills both technically and by feel is an understatement. This guy knows the history, techniques, reading music, you name it. He is truly a student of percussions and can play the shit out of the Foo Fighters. Lol. What I enjoy most about his lessons is that as I started progressing he is looking to expand on the types of music and helping me develop the sounds and techniques that I enjoy, rather than having some cookie cutter/same program fits all, mindset.
He's super chill and very much interested in not only helping you become a good drummer but also cares about people and takes a legitimate interest in your life/wellbeing." - Ed, age 45
“I want to recommend Eyal, a drum teacher that I studied with for a few months in 2015. Eyal is a professional teacher who cared a lot about me and how to help me progress with playing drums. In his lessons, I was exposed to different thoughts that completely changed my perspective about the world of music. Eyal’s lessons were very fun and he took time to get to know me. Some of the things I learned from Eyal were: improving my personal sound, the correct way to hold the drumsticks, playing songs from drum charts - all in a big variety of genres. I will summarize by saying that Eyal is an incredible teacher, and he is a friend for life.” - Elad, age 16
“My son studied with Eyal for two years and enjoyed the process a lot. Besides practical and theoretical knowledge, Eyal knows how to make it relevant by connecting his lessons to modern music. He introduced my son to new artists and genres that he wasn’t familiar with before. After each lesson, my son came home excited about his new drumming homework, and the feeling I got was that Eyal believes in each of his students’ abilities to become a real drummer.” - Father of Roy, age 13
