What is Electronic Screen Syndrome?“One way to think about the syndrome is to view electronics as a stimulant (in essence, not unlike caffeine, amphetamines, or cocaine): electronic screen device use puts the body into a state of high arousal and hyperfocus, followed by a “crash.” This overstimulation of the nervous system is capable of causing a variety of chemical, hormonal, and sleep disturbances in the same way other stimulants can.” - Electronic Screen Syndrome: An Unrecognized Disorder by Victoria L. We are so fortunate to have not just one…but two working professional vocal coaches on our staff! Janice Maxie-Reid and our new voice teacher Amanda MadDowell were doing the same gig on Saturday… Pictured with them is Uriah Duffy, a well know bass player who performs with Whitesnake and Sly and the Family Stone… |
"Searching for a great local music school? I recommend Better World School of Music on Foothill
My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Fabio for a year. Her confidence, stage presence and most importantly, her vocal technique has improved to an astonishing degree. She always loved to sing, but now she can recognize where she is strong in a song and where she needs to work.
She knows the warm-up exercises to do to strengthen her voice. From being too shy to sing for anyone but her family, this year she won the lead in the school musical.
For the Director Kathy Saffas, teaching music is a passion. Her love and knowledge of music inspire students and staff alike. There are many choices out there when looking for a music teacher for your child.
Take the time to actually visit Better World. You won't be able to deny the "magic" in the air. You will find incredible teachers, like Fabio, reasonably priced lessons and an invaluable learning experience.
We feel blessed to have found such a uniquely supportive and inspiring school for our daughter. Better World School of Music shines above the rest."
