Pablo Valadares - Expert piano instructor 

Pablo Valladares is a distinguished pianist and dedicated educator recognized for his expressive artistry, technical command, and commitment to excellence in music education. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Drake University, a Master of Music from Western Michigan University, and a Performance Diploma from Roosevelt University in 2024. During his tenure in Chicago, he refined his craft under the guidance of acclaimed pianists Edward Auer, Junghwa Moon Auer, and Winston Choi.

As a performer, Valladares has established a strong presence on both national and international stages. As a concerto soloist, he has collaborated with professional orchestras in a diverse repertoire including works by Beethoven, Schumann, Haydn, Poulenc, and Rubinstein. His performances are frequently noted for their emotional depth, clarity, and communicative power.

His artistic achievements have been recognized through numerous prestigious awards. He is a two-time winner of the Drake University Concerto Competition and a first-prize winner of the National Young Artists Competition. More recently, he won the Roosevelt University Soloist Competition (2024) and the Robert B. Beardsley Piano Prize Competition at Ruthmere (2023). Notably, he was selected as a Gilmore Fellow through the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival—a highly selective program supporting outstanding emerging pianists. During this fellowship, he was chosen for a residency led by the internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Gabriela Montero.

In addition to his performing career, Valladares is an accomplished educator. He has served as a faculty member at Western Michigan University and has taught in respected programs such as the Gilmore Piano Festival, the Suzuki Academy of Kalamazoo, and the Kalamazoo School of Music. His teaching philosophy combines rigorous technical training with thoughtful musical interpretation, tailored to the unique goals of each student.

His students have achieved significant success, earning Gold Medals at festivals organized by the Chicago Area Music Teachers Association and top prizes in the American Protégé International Competition, leading to performances at Carnegie Hall. He works effectively with a broad spectrum of learners, from beginners to competition-bound pianists, helping them build discipline and artistic identity.

He currently serves as the Music Director of Ridge United Methodist Church, where he leads worship music and collaborates with vocalists and instrumentalists to foster a vibrant musical community. Deeply connected to his roots, Valladares maintains a strong interest in Latin American repertoire, which he integrates into both his teaching and performance. Through his multifaceted career, he continues to inspire audiences and students alike, fostering a lifelong appreciation for music across generations.
