Fabio was born in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil, and music has been his passion since he was a child. Raised in the Catholic Church, Fabio was introduced to gospel music at a very young age, as he attended the mass weekly with his parents.
When he was 7 years old, Fabio joined the children's choir of his church. At the age of 10, he was invited to join the adult choir for having impressive musical skills for his age. He started to play the keyboard when he was 12, and he was invited to become a keyboard player and background singer of a professional gospel band in Rio de Janeiro, where he remained until he turned 18. Although he worked in the corporate world for many years in his adult life, his passion for music was never forgotten. He performed as a singer in wedding ceremonies, parties and events on weekends. However, his life changed dramatically when he was invited to be the lead-singer of a band in Brazil. Fabio quit his day job and engaged in this project with all his heart and soul. When the band was still recording its first album, his music producer sent some demos to Universal Music, the world’s largest music label. The executives loved what they heard and embraced the band right away. The band was released under the Universal Music label a couple of months after signing the contract. Its first video “Disque Sim” was a hit on the internet in the first week when it reached the Youtube Brazil Top 100 with over 100,000 views. The band traveled across the country to promote its music. They performed as part of several concerts and TV Channel shows throughout Brazil. The band came to an end prematurely due to differences among the band members, which led Fabio to move to the U.S. in order to improve his vocal technique and to start his solo singer career. Fabio started studying SLS (speech level singing) years ago, and he fell in love with the technique right away when he noticed the positive changes in his voice. His goals and priorities changed after studying the technique for a couple years, and that is when he decided he wanted to become a vocal coach. Fabio is an IVA certified instructor (Institute for Vocal Advancement) and he continues to develop his teaching skills and SLS Technique through the same institution. *To learn more about Speech Level Singing click here, and here.
